Velatia recives 2015 Sabino Arana Award
The award, to be presented on 31 January at the Arriaga Theatre in Bilbao, rewards Velatia’s “commitment to people”
This coming Sunday, 31 January, Velatia will receive the prestigious 2015 Sabino Arana Award. Awards will also be presented to former Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond, U.S. Congressman John Garamendi, slalom canoeist Maialen Chorraut, cultural promoter Leopoldo Zugaza and CEAR Euskadi. In the case of Velatia, the award acknowledges that since its founding in 1967, “it has remained true to its commitment to people, by creating employment and creating wealth in and for the Basque Country”.
Javier Ormazabal Echevarria, President of Velatia and son of the Group’s founder, Javier Ormazabal Ocerin, will attend the ceremony this Sunday to receive a distinction that confirms our commitment, detailed in the Velatia Sustainability Report, as the basis for the Group’s sustainable development.
