Velatia and Tecnun inagurate a plan to reinforce the dual training of engineers
The agreement offers students different ways for Velatia professionals to accompany them in their training, as well as offering work experience opportunities in various group companies.
The aim is to strengthen the relationship between enterprise and academia, allowing students to gain theoretical knowledge in the academic centre, while at the same time receiving practical training from professionals in competitive companies.
San Sebastian, 27 September 2016.- The technological and industrial company Velatia and TECNUN - School of Engineering of the University of Navarra in San Sebastian, have signed a cooperation agreement with the aim of reinforcing the students’ knowledge gained through work experience in different group companies.
The agreement was signed today by the President of Velatia, Javier Ormazabal, and Tecnun director Raúl Antón at the technology campus of the university. Both are keen to reinforce their commitment to the relationship between universities and enterprises, bringing both bodies closer and resulting in better prepared professionals and more competitive companies.
Thanks to this agreement, the students will have the opportunity to be accompanied by Velatia professionals, who will help them to put into practice what they have learned. In addition, the students will be able to visit Velatia facilities and production plants so that they can see for themselves the way the group functions.
Moreover, Velatia will, as far as it can, incorporate Tecnun students into work experience plans and degree/master projects to facilitate practical training and the acquisition of new skills.

TECNUN-School of Engineering of the University of Navarra in San Sebastian, belonging to the University of Navarra, is designed to contribute to the professional, scientific and human training of future engineers. Since its inception, in the spring of 1961, it has kept a balance between teaching, research and service to society, allowing these activities to complement each other.
Its scientific work is carried out in collaboration with researchers from CEIT-IK4, with which it shares its laboratories and library. Thus, scientific research, central to a university, is complemented by the practical interest of a technology centre oriented towards service to industry.
